Austria’s largest ski area is known for its excellent snow and ski terrain but I’d also like to share my personal selection of the area’s top ski huts with you. I’ve outlined my four favourites below and, as you’ll see from my photos, last time I visited, the weather was very foggy so I spent a lot of time cosying up inside. Lovely!
Restaurant Gipfelalm Hohe Salve: An excellent self-service restaurant with great food and a great atmosphere. Call ahead to book and look forward to stunning views from the lovely terrace.
Kummereralm: A simple yet modern and brightly furnished self-service restaurant with high-quality cuisine.

Tanzbodenalm restaurant: Very friendly service with delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere and an open fireplace. Probably my favourite.

Rubezahl Alm: One of the best known and most popular huts, this hut is often visited by celebrities. Great atmosphere and a fantastic setting.
I also discovered a very promising restaurant at the base station in Soll: the Kornkammer (‘the Granary’) offers a great atmosphere and good cuisine. Quaint and tasteful, you should certainly pay a visit next time here.
