Alpine Pasture Huts for Late Fall

Wettersteinhütte, Wangalm

Many of Tirol’s Refuges and Alpine Pasture Huts are open until mid-October. Now is the time to get outside and enjoy the last warm days and the magnificent fall colours on a cozy on-mountain shelter. Any more suggestions?

Umbrüggler Alm, elev. 1,123 m

A year-round recommendation by Christian: Umbrüggler Alm above Innsbruck serves excellent food in a contemporary setting. Its architecture is stunning, inside and out.

Pleisenhütte, elev. 1,757 m

Anne recommends Pleisen Hut. Why? The sun seems to shine forever on the hut’s outdoor patio and their venison stew is simply terrific. The hut is open until mid-October and on weekends from mid-November onwards.

Kaindlhütte, elev. 1,293 m

Kaindl Hut is sandwiched between Wilder & Zahmer Kaiser Mountain Ranges and offers jaw-dropping close-ups of Scheffauer Peak. The hut is open from mid-October onwards, weather-dependant. Breathtaking views of Innsbruck and Rosenheim open around you as you climb the way to the hut. Thanks for sharing, Michael!

Wettersteinhütte, elev. 1,717 m

Wetterstein Hut near Leutasch is open until late October if weather conditions allow. The hut is easily accessible within a 1 to 1.5 hour walk. Martina recommends this place for its stunning views of Leutasch Valley below. They serve great food and special requests can be arranged by appointment.

Pfarrachalm, elev. 1,740 m

Corinna suggests Pfarrachalm Alpine Pasture Hut above Telfes. One of the finest viewing outposts in Stubai Valley, Pfarrachalm will leave your head spinning as you try to identify a seemingly infinite array of peaks spread out before you: from close-ups of Serles, mighty matron of the valley, all the way to iconic Patscherkofel Mountain and lofty Habicht Peak. And into the valley and out of it too!

Enjoy your weekend! #stubai#tirol#nature#relax

Vorderkaiserfeldenhütte, elev. 1,388 m

Eckard favours Vorderkaiserfelden Hut for their fine cuisine and picturesque setting in scenic Kaisertal Valley. The hut is open year round, but please check for their holidays!
